# CBOR working group conference call, 2023-01-24   {#cbor-working-group-conference-call-2023-01-24}

**This meeting was just 5 minutes, as Gordian was withdrawn from the
agenda, leaving only the short pointer**.

Several people had trouble authenticating (MT, MM, RH), and thus only
joined the room after the meeting closed already; some room/zulip chats
ensued.

## Short pointers   {#short-pointers}

There is [some commotion][1] about JSON outgrowing JSON-I. There may be
overlap with EDN, maybe even a compatible subset.

CB: There's a discussion about a more humane version of JSON, where many
of the items are already addressed in EDN (but comma elision is not).  
CA: Extended comments (maybe `/* */`) would be in the same "too much of
a change" slot as commas.
