Update on the IETF Policy Fellow program and Roundtable in Brisbane at IETF 119 Christian O'Flaherty provided an update on the program, including the schedule and opportunities for IAB members to participate as speakers or in Q&A sessions. Mirja Kühlewind suggested early agenda distribution with highlights for IAB member participation. Olaf Kolkman provided details about a planned ISOC roundtable in Brisbane during IETF 119. 2. ITU-T Update Hosein Badran reported on the recent TSAG meeting, highlighting discussions on: - Approval of work programs at WTSA - Proposal for requiring multiple countries to support standardization proposals - Human rights considerations in technical standard development - Development of guidelines for gap analysis to avoid duplication of work 3. Legislation Update Natalie Campbell presented updates concerning legislative efforts in the following: - UK: Investigatory Powers Act amendments raising encryption concerns - Australia: Basic Online Safety Expectations potentially impacting encrypted services - Canada: Online Safety Act with a positive focus on minimizing the impact on the Internet 4. IG Idea Olaf Kolkman mentioned an ISOC position paper in development about a global digital compact architecture.
