Emmanuel Baccelli is a researcher at Inria, working on decentralized, cooperative concepts for wireless Internet connectivity. After working at AT&T Labs in Florham Park, New Jersey, USA, and for Metro Optix Inc. in the Silicon Valley, as software engineer until 2002, Emmanuel Baccelli joined Hitachi Europe as research engineer, and eventually received his Ph.D. from Ecole Polytechnique, Paris, France in 2006. He received his habilitation from Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France in 2012. In 2013-2014, Emmanuel Baccelli was visiting professor on a DAAD grant at Freie Universität Berlin. Emmanuel Baccelli's main research interests involve spontaneous wireless networks, Internet of Things, mobility, design and analysis of network protocols and algorithms. He has authored or co-authored dozens of research papers in the field's relevant conferences and journals, several RFCs. Emmanuel Baccelli has co-chaired several IEEE and ACM workshops and conferences, and coordinated international research projects and he contributes continuously to standardization efforts within the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Emmanuel Baccelli is also a co-founder and coordinator of the open source community developing the RIOT operating system.
