Glenn Deen is a Distinguished Engineer and Sr. Director of Networking and Distribution Technology at Comcast-NBCUniversal. Glenn is the co-chair of the IETF Adaptive DNS Discovery (ADD) and technical advisor to the Media Operations (MOPS) working groups. He is the current chair of the IETF Trust, and a past chair and member of the IAOC and the IETF LLC Board of Directors.
He’s been active in a variety of standards development and organizations for many years including the IETF, W3C, SMPTE, and Streaming Video Alliance. His first IETF was IETF 81 in Quebec City. Current technical interests include a focus on the scalability and efficiency of Internet Video and how IP networks and video can work in an intelligent partnership.
Since the arrival of DoH, he has been actively involved in encrypted DNS and is the chair of the Encrypted DNS Deployment Initiative which focuses on technical and policy issues surrounding successfully deploying DoH and DoT globally.
Glenn has been involved in hosting a few IETFs and their socials: IETF 86 (Orlando), 99 (Prague), and most recently 105 (Montreal)
In addition to the IETF, Glenn serves on the Board of the Streaming Video Alliance and chairs the Networking and Transport group there.
