Alissa Cooper

Alissa Cooper is the Executive Director of the Knight-Georgetown Institute (KGI). Based at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, KGI translates research about information technology and the online information environment for policy and practicioner audiences. Prior to joining KGI, Alissa spent a decade at Cisco Systems in a variety of senior engineering and executive roles, including Fellow, VP of Technology Standards, and VP/CTO for Technology Policy. She previously served as the IETF Chair, an ART Area Director, an IAB member, and the chair of the IANA Stewardship Coordination Group. She currently co-chairs the MIMI working group and serves on the board of The Tor Project.
