protocol suites.
Milestones
Date | Milestone |
---|---|
Done | Specify an addressing format (from those available from the OSI NSAP addressing structure) for use in the Internet. Coordinate addressing format with GOSIP version 2 and possibly other groups. |
Jan 1989 | Review the OSI protocol mechanisms proposed for the upcoming Berkeley release 4.4. Coordinate efforts with Berkeley. |
Jan 1989 | Review short-term issues involved in adding OSI gateways to the Internet. Preferably, this should allow OSI and/or dual gateways to be present by the time that Berkeley release 4.4 comes out. |
Jan 1989 | For interoperability between OSI end systems and TCP/IP end systems, there will need to be application layer gateways. Determine if there are any outstanding issues here. |
Jan 1989 | Determine what should be used short-term for (i) intra-domain routing; and (ii) inter-domain routing. |
Jan 1989 | Review GOSIP. Open liaison with Government OSI Users Group (GOSIUG) for feedback of issues and concerns that we may discover. |
