draft-irtf-nmrg-ibn-concepts-definitions

Shepherd writeup entered on 17-08-2021:
- RG last call initiated on 07-10-2020, concluded on 28-10-2021
- The document received several reviews (18+) and comments during the
last call period. This includes reviews from people not actively participating
in NMRG and so who provide an external point of views. - 6 reviews were
very detailed. - The review comments and replies from the authors are
available in the NMRG mailing list archives (subject line: “RG Last Call for
draft-irtf-nmrg-ibn-concepts-definitions”). - Document versions and diffs
are available at:
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-irtf-nmrg-ibn-concepts-definitions/ -
Authors have addressed the comments and submitted an updated version in
february 2021 (v3). - No oppositions or disagreements from the RG
participants on the publication of this work as an IRTF RFC have been expressed
during and after the RG last call. The current version of the document
represents the consensus of the RG. - There are some remaining comments
and a new review has been received after the last call. The shepherd consider
theses comments as minor but they must be addressed. There is no need for a
last call but the shepherd will ensure that they are addressed appropriately.
No oppositions or disagreements from the RG participants have been expressed to
proceed this way. - A new version has been submitted (v4) on 09-08-2021
and a v5 is under progress (waiting for the shepherd review)

Update on 03/09/2021:
- Last minor comments have been addressed and reviewed by the shepherd.
- v5 has been submitted accordingly and the document is now stable

Update on 21/12/2021
- v6 has been submitted according to IRTF chair review.
- minor update regarding the terminology and mandatory statement for RG
documents added in introduction. - last paragraph added in introduction to
highlight the relevance of IBN research with an increasing interest over the
last years (including references). - one important remark was about how such a
document can support further research in the community. This draft introduces
main IBN concepts. It is helpful to apprehend other research papers in this
area. As a proof of its value for the community, this draft is already cited by
around 50 other publications
