Shepherd writeup
draft-dashevskyi-dnsrr-antipatterns

draft-dashevskyi-dnsrr-antipatterns has been presented to the ISE for
publication as an Informational RFC on the Independent Stream.

==Purpose==

This draft discusses some common mistakes that are made in DNS
implementations, and some recommendations to address those mistakes.
These include various failures to properly validate input.

== History==

This draft was submitted to the ISE on the 23rd of March, 2021. It
was introduced to the DNSOP group a on the 4th of May, 2021, and
received some discussion, but did not progress there. The draft thus
remained with the ISE.

==Non-IETF Work==

This draft is the result of independent analysis of several
implementations. There is no standards activity taking place
anywhere, to my knowledge, involving this work.

==Security Considerations==

This draft discusses several problematic implementation errors that
can lead to vulnerabilities. To the best of my knowledge, the
approaches proposed to resolve them do not introduce new
vulnerabilities.

==IANA==

The document makes no request for IANA action.

==Reviews==

This document was reviewed by Peter Koch, and found to be worthy of
publication.
