Technical Summary

This specification defines an extension to HTTP Caching, changing how
key=value pairs in the URI query fragment impact caching.

Working Group Summary

The input on this document has mainly been from a few (4-5)
individuals who worked hard on reviewing caching aspects and consistency
with other documents. This document originated as a W3C draft, and still
carries some of the flavor of that background.

A few participants felt that the name was too narrow to one particular use-
case, which could hamper discoverability. This was ultimately set aside as
a recurring bikeshed, as it does not impact the technical behavior.

Document Quality

There are at least two implementations in shipping web browsers, with
   additional implementation interest from others.

Personnel

The Document Shepherd for this document is Tommy Pauly. The Responsible
   Area Director is Mike Bishop.

IANA Note

This document registers a new field name in the Hypertext Transfer Protocol
  (HTTP) Field Name Registry (https://www.iana.org/assignments/http-fields/http-fields.xhtml).
