Technical Summary

   This document provides the Media Type Registration for the subtype
   image/webp.

Working Group Summary

   The document is not a product of a working group, and is sponsored by an
   Area Director.  Discussion has occurred on the DISPATCH and MEDIA-TYPES
   lists.

Document Quality

   WebP is natively supported in Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox,
   Edge, the Opera browser, and by many other tools and software
   libraries. Developers have also added support to a variety of
   image editing tools.

   The media type reviewers have already submitted feedback,
   which was incorporated.

   This document was previously approved for publication (as -11) but then heavily
