QIRG @ IETF 123
- Talk 1 (Amar Abane)
Q: (Diego Lopez) Are you implementing this, as well as designing it?
A: Yes, an implementation will be release soon.
- Talk 2 (Mohit Tahiliani & students)
Q: (Wojciech Kozlowski) What is the difference to with QuISP
A: QuISP is based on omnet++ a different framework
Q: (Rod Van Meter) How do you verify against experimental hardware?
A: We verify against other simulators and analytic abstractions.
- Talk 3 (Angela Sara Cacciapuoti)
Q: (Muhammad Sajjad) (couldn't hear)
Q: (Rod Van Meter) Are you working with experimentalists? What's their
response to the architecture issues?
A: Talking to experimentalists, we are building a testbed so all of this
figures in.
- Talk 4 (Blanca Lopez)
Q: (Wojtek Kozlowski) How do you handle latency in the simulator?
A: It works well if the simulation is faster than the real time which is
the case for long keys over long distances for example
- Talk 5 (Ziyan Zhang)
Q: (Diego Lopez) What is this based on? Using REST interface? What is
the northbound interface?
A: Just proposed this so far, don't know yet.
Q: (Diego) Effects of the network control in the protocol -- I'd like to
know more about those effects.
A: Would like to talk more about time sync. Very difficult to achieve in
experiments.
- Talk 6 (Diego Lopez)
Q: (Paventhan Arumugam) If this is all SDN, how complex is the hardware?
A: 20 rackable PCs, nothing extremely complex.
Q: (Rod Van Meter) Can these generalized SUs be used for entanglement?
A: That's the intent. So we do hope we will be abel to show some
examples soon. We are talking about how addresses would be built in
quantum memories.

@DiegoLopez, I didn't have the opportunity to ask, but I didn't get how
far your proposal is from https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/10299662
My group in another Qirg meeting present this, so it's important to link
the things together

@Angela agreed, QIRG is a great place to try to hash out similarities
and differences. Our group has done some work on recursive addressing
and naming of entangled states, but it's all still a little too ad
hoc...
Diego:
@Angela: The idea is to explore convergence with proposals that consider
the addressing in entanglement distribution. We were aware of your
proposal, Angela, and in fact I remember discussing this briefly with
Marcelo some time ago. A discussion on how align views is in my to-do
views, and I think it should be possible, given the levels of
abstraction we are considering are different. That is why we made this
proposal of the three strata.
@Rod: It would be great to have some hint on your addressing ideas. Any
initial example of how a generalized SU content could look like would be
extremely interesting!
