After receiving the IEEE 802.1 liaison
https://datatracker.ietf.org/liaison/1985/, the IETF LSVR WG has arranged
several presentations and discussion about the LSVR neighbor discovery
solutions both at IETF meetings and at a WG interim meeting in 2025, while no
WG consensus was reached.

In March of 2026, the coauthors of draft-ietf-lsvr-l3dl presented an
alternative solution
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-ymbk-lsvr-l3nd-01, which works on
layer-3. The authors also requested the WG to evaluate the interest and need
for a neighbor discovery solution.

In April 2026, a WG poll was initiated to collect interests and feedback on the
LSVR neighbor discovery mechanism and the possible

There was no response received on this poll, which shows there is no interest
in pursuing this work in LSVR WG. The result of the poll was announced in July
14 at https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/lsvr/jLwqBj1RswC2J5qEoZrJ2bw8gfM/.

Based on the poll result, the LSVR WG has stopped working on the neighbor
discovery solutions, and draft-ietf-lsvr-l3dl is marked as a Dead WG Document.
