draft-fz-spring-srv6-alt-mark-14 has been presented to the ISE for
publication as an Informational RFC on the Independent Stream.

==Purpose==

This draft proposes an alternate approach to passive performance
measurement.  Two existing RFCs 9341 and 9342 make use of various
option headers.  This approach makes use of SRH instead.  It is
an experiment.  The results of the experiment are to be reported
out.

== History==

This draft was originally presented to the ISE when 9341 and 9342
were new.  At that time it was felt that this draft would disrupt
deployment of those technologies.  Since then, the draft has
changed to an experiment.  The ISE has been in touch with the
Spring WG chairs to ensure that there are no conflicts.

This draft benefited heavily from Adrian Farrel's and Ron Bonica's
draft on experiments, an they were consulted as part of its
development.

See Section 7 of this draft.  The intent also is to limit the scope
of the experiment to participants.
