Technical Summary
This document defines a YANG data model and associated mechanism to
enable adaptive subscriptions to YANG notifications. The publisher
can dynamically adjust the periodic update interval based on the
evaluation of pre-configured conditions (e.g., thresholds or
expressions). This allows for finer-grained telemetry by increasing
update frequency when certain criteria are met, and reducing it
otherwise.
Working Group Summary
Was there anything in the WG process that is worth noting?
For example, was there controversy about particular points
or were there decisions where the consensus was
particularly rough?
From Shepherd's review:
During the working group process, the document received fair feedback from the
working group and OPS directorate and YANG doctors reviews. There was no
feedback on the working group last call.
Separately, the document did get a TSVART and SECDIR review both of which
stated that the document was ready.
Document Quality
Are there existing implementations of the protocol? Have a
significant number of vendors indicated their plan to
implement the specification? Are there any reviewers that
merit special mention as having done a thorough review,
e.g., one that resulted in important changes or a
conclusion that the document had no substantive issues? If
there was a MIB Doctor, Media Type, or other Expert Review,
what was its course (briefly)? In the case of a Media Type
Review, on what date was the request posted?
From Shepherd's review:
https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-ietf-netconf-adaptive-subscription-09#section-6
describes 1 prototype implementation. Matches document intend to be
Experimental.
