IntArea WG Agenda

IETF 116 - Hybrid meeting, Yokohama (JP) + Online
Tuesday, March 28, 2023

17:00-18:00 Tuesday Afternoon Session IV (Yokohama local time, UTC+9)

Chairs:
Juan Carlos Zuniga (Cisco)
Wassim Haddad (Ericsson)

  1. Agenda Bashing, WG & Document Status Updates (Chairs)
    5 mins

Notetaker: Andrew McGregor

  1. IANA Considerations and IETF Protocol and Documentation Usage for
IEEE 802 Parameters, Donald Eastlake / Juan Carlos Zuniga
    draft-ietf-intarea-rfc7042bis-01
    10 mins

AD will take care of typos in IESG statement.

The other problematic issue: draft a liason letter with proposed
intention to clear out the issues regarding redundant and missing
information between the IEEE802 and the IANA lists of EtherTypes.

  1. IP Addressing with References (IPREF), Waldemar Augustyn
    draft-augustyn-intarea-ipref-00
    20 mins

Anthony Somerset: What is this trying to solve exactly and why does
something existing not solve it? IPSEC? Secondly, if we are publishing
this in the DNS, what about privacy concerns?

Waldemar: IPSEC is a negotiated protocol. Trying to achieve this without
negotiations.

Anthony: No negotiations sounds scary; private space is private for a
reason.

  1. Service aware network (SAN) framework and data plane solutions -
    Daniel Huang
    draft-huang-intarea-san-framework-00
    draft-ma-intarea-identification-header-of-san-00
    draft-ma-intarea-encapsulation-of-san-header-00
    draft-zhou-intarea-aware-route-san-database-00
    draft-zhou-intarea-computing-segment-san-01
    20 mins

Eric Vyncke (AD): There were 3 points mentioned in the list that this
presentation was supposed to address. SO far no answers are provided...
is it similar to CATS group requirements?

It's at the end of the presentation.

(meeting time finished before that was presented)
