CBOR interim meeting 2022-09-07

Minutes

CA overviewing the documents in the WG

CA: What to achieve before IETF 115?

  • time-tag

CA: Is time-tags still waiting for SEDATE?
CB: We can finish it while SEDATE is finishing.
CA: Can we push it to the point is MISSREFING SEDATE?
CB: SEDATE should be fast enough, so it's a non-problem, they should be
able to move together.

  • packed: waiting for reviews and implementations

CA: One review/implementation should be from me.

  • CDDL 2.0

CA: Should we invite some particular people to the interim meetings?
Just use the mailing list?
CB: Need for implementation efforts to validate what is now in the
freezer document. After implmementations, adjust the specification,
hopefully before the cut-off of IETF 115.
CA: Can you update the freezer draft then, since it's expired?
CB: Sounds good to do. We may just copy the latest slides into the
draft. Will update and resubmit the freezer document.

  • map-like data structures still around somewhere

CB: No urgent use case pushing, but it will happen. The new CDDL work
might also trigger something.

AOB

MCR (chat): I had volunteered to prepare stuff for CBOR use in other
WGs, and I still think it is important. (I'm on a train now). I would
like to brainstorm this with someone else.
CA: Send a mail to the list when available, then let's talk about it.

Ziyang: Was there a partiicular topic scheduled for today? CA: Only
discussing the "status of documents we have" that's an agenda regular.

CB: Will skip the meeting in 2 weeks, but will cover CDDL in the
following meeting in 4 weeks from now.
CA: Will look at agenda in due time.
