The CCAMP Working Group would like to inform you that we have initiated control plane work on supporting Flexible Grid DWDM networks with the following document: http://www.ietf.org/id/draft-ietf-ccamp-flexi-grid-fwk-00.txt Our understanding of the n and m parameters, when used to describe a frequency slot, have to be integer, as per G.694.1. From a signaling perspective, since we are signaling actual frequency slots on a hop per hop basis, we would use integer values. It is our understanding that typically a consistent value of n would be used for a path over multiple network elements, though the Recommendation does not constrain it. The CCAMP WG would like to ask if our understanding is accurate. We would appreciate if you would continue to keep us informed of your progress and development on capabilities for the data plane that may affect the control plane.
