We are pleased to inform you that ITU-T Joint Coordination Activity for Software-Defined Networking (JCA-SDN), which was established in July 2013, has successfully published the first official version of the SDN standardization activity roadmap thanks to the information you provided to us. It is available from the JCA-SDN website, http://www.itu.int/en/ITU-T/jca/sdn/Pages/default.aspx. As stated in the liaison statement we sent you in November 2013, the objective of the roadmap is to support SDN standardization coordination. SDN is an important topic for our industry, and many standardization-related activities are held in various entities. This makes it difficult for standardization experts to understand what work item is discussed in which entity. The JCA therefore would like to develop a completed and ongoing activity roadmap of SDN standardization”. JCA-SDN will keep updating this roadmap, and therefore we solicit your information about updates. If you send us the latest information of your activity related to SDN as well as Network function virtualization (NFV), network virtualization, programmable networks, and network as a service (NaaS) that are strongly related to SDN, we will reflect it in the next version which will be published after the next JCA-SDN meeting. Please submit your updates using the template to be found in appendix below. Bug reports, comments on the roadmap are also welcome. JCA-SDN meetings are held about three times a year, next one planned on 24 April 2015. |
