ITU-T Study Group 15 thanks IETF CCAMP WG for their liaison statement requesting comments on "Management and Control of DWDM Optical Interface" (https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-ccamp-dwdm-if-mng-ctrl-fwk-09). Due to the timing of the liaison’s arrival SG15 was unable to generate a response by the deadline requested in the liaison. In spite of that we hope that these comments, generated against the current version of the document (draft-ietf-ccamp-dwdm-if-mng-ctrl-fwk-11), are of use to CCAMP. The draft discusses three use cases: service setup; Access Link monitoring and Power Loop Control. We regard all three of these use cases as being related to the operation or implementation of DWDM networks or networking equipment, and that, as such, they are outside the scope of our Recommendations. As to the question of specific parameters we found no easily identifiable list of these and, given the text in bullet item 2 of section 6 (Requirements) we did not pursue that aspect of your request further. |
