This liaison announces the planned to initiate the approval process of
Amendment 1 to Recommendation ITU-T G.8121/Y.1381.

ITU-T SG15 wishes to inform the IETF MPLS WG of our intent to initiate the
approval process for the following document related to MPLS-TP at the December
2023 plenary meeting of Study Group 15:

• Amendment 1 to Recommendation ITU-T G.8121/Y.1381 Characteristics of MPLS-TP
equipment functional blocks.

This amendment adds an alternative mechanism for mapping MPLS-TP packets to OTN
and includes editorial updates. The current draft of this amendment is attached.

The next meeting of ITU-T SG15 Question 10 is in Geneva, Switzerland, 20
November – 1 December 2023.
