This document invites SDOs/organizations to provide the standards or information about ongoing work items related to metaverse cross-platform interoperability. Working Group 5 (WG5) of the ITU Focus Group on metaverse (FG-MV) is developing a deliverable FGMV-D5.1-uriop “Service scenarios and high-level requirements for metaverse cross-platform interoperability”. The current draft deliverable FGMV-D5.1-uriop (contained in FGMV-O-128) describes several service scenarios for metaverse cross-platform interoperability along with high-level requirements, and it contains a summary of standardization work in relevant Standards Developing Organizations (SDOs) in Appendix II. It is planned to approve the draft deliverable at the upcoming fourth FG-MV meeting that will take place from 4–7 December 2023, in Geneva, Switzerland. The draft deliverable has also identified four major interoperability aspects to be considered for cross-platform interoperability: avatar, content, digital asset, and identity. WG5 of FG-MV kindly request you to provide detailed information about your organizations’ standards, ongoing standardization work, and information about your standardization activities on metaverse interoperability. FG-MV is looking forward to continuing further collaboration on metaverse-related standardization activities.
