Body
This LS aims to inform ITU-T SG13 and IETF WG SPRING that ITU-T SG11 has
initiated one new work item ITU-T Q.SFCO.

ITU-T SG11 would like to share the latest progress on SRv6 based SFC
orchestration signalling.

At the ITU-T SG11 closing plenary meeting on 20 October 2023, the following new
work item has been initiated.

- Q.SFCO: Signalling requirements and data models for service function chaining
orchestration based on SRv6. This draft aims to specify signalling requirements
and data models of interfaces between network controller and service
orchestrator, and between cloud controller and service orchestrator. The
signalling is to support the network controller and the cloud controller to
configure and manage the service function chaining based on the requirements of
cloud network collaborative service orchestration. The A.1 justification is
included as Annex B in the Q4/11 meeting report (SG11-TD637-R1/GEN) and the
baseline text is contained in SG11-TD785/GEN.

SG11 would like to receive your comments and collaborations on ITU-T Q.SFCO and
hope you can share your related works on SRv6 based SFC orchestration with us.
