7. Any Other Business (WG News, New Proposals, etc.)

8. Tools Team Report -- 10 July 2018 (Russ Housley)

8.1. Datatracker Projects
   - The merge plan was recently updated.
     -- See http://trac.tools.ietf.org/tools/ietfdb/wiki/MergePlan
   - The email for people to give consent for information in the
datatracker did not go out on 25 June 2018; this will happen
after the Montreal meeting and before the end of July 2018.
The list of email addresses is over 15,000. Of course, most of
them are very old, so they will bounce. The email will include
a link to their datatracker account page.

8.2. Community & Other Projects
   - The Tools Team is working to discontinue MonArch email archives.
This will allow all of the mail-related tools to work from one
copy of the archives in maildir format. However, the community
clearly still likes the speed offered by MonArch. Cloudflare is
now enabled for the mailarchive.ietf.org domain name, which will
help with latency. The following steps from the June 2018 report
are still in progress, and they should be done before the IETF
     meeting in Montreal:
       2) Change the name of the setting from "legacy" to "static";
       3) Deploy on the production servers; and
       4) Send note to the community.

8.3. RFC Services Projects
   - RFC Format contracts are on schedule:
     -- IDnits
     -- Publication Formatter
     -- Text Submission
     -- RFClint
     -- SVGcheck
     -- XMLdiff
   - RFClint, SVGcheck, and XMLdiff are being tested by the RFC Series
Editor and the RFC Production Center. Bugs are being resolved
     promptly.
   - The first drop on the text formatter using the v3 schema should
take place before the end of July. The code for other formats
should follow in September and October.

8.4. Server Infrastructure
   - The custom DMARC-handling software was deployed for all mail lists
in June. We received very positive feedback from the community.
   - There is a desire to move away from the custom software to ARC, but
the ARC software cannot be configured to handle just a few of our
mail lists. This is necessary for testing. Henrik will ask the
ARC developers to add the needed configuration capability.

8.5. Other Business
   - The web pages for the Tools Team are being updated.
--- Draft provided to IETF Chair, one round of comments were
resolved, waiting for approval or more comments.
--- Work will begin when the first web page is sorted.
   - The Tools Team will write down guidance about when to make
updates to IETF servers and when to avoid doing so. For example:
-- No updates to datatracker on the Wednesday or Thursday of
        the IESG formal telechat.
-- No updates to datatracker a few days prior to I-D cut-off date
        for an IETF meeting.
-- No updates to any major server software the week before or
        during the IETF meeting.

8.6. Parking Lot
   - Prepare the RFC Production Center code for publication.
-- Maybe this can get some attention when the six RFC Format tools
are posted in an open source repository.
